because DVD players are designed to play uncompressed (i think) MPEG movie files. avi has all sorts of compression types, you need to be more specific

but dvd movies are compressed that y soon there will be dual layer dvd movies

Most AVI files are encoded with DivX/XviD. Are you sure you have one of those codecs?
There are dvd players that supports DivX. So you can burn it and play
it in your dvd player.![]()
this comment doesnt make any sense. the fact that movies are compress doesnt make it more likely to have higher density media. if anything, the densities would stay the same....Originally Posted by buggesy666

Yeah, those that support DivX (few) are around 100$+.
But I'll rather use my TV-Out.
