Gb emu link?

so me and a friend were trying to do the linked battle. however there were lots of complications. the signal seems to get lost alot. we ended up having very ..very incorrect information while fighting. (i put a voltorb to sleep with slash). and self-destuct healed my opponet on my screen. is there any way to configure the link so it will work better or is it just stuck this way.

VBA should work better on etpay, but I prefer BGB, I think it's the most compatible free GB/GBC/SGB emulator, and it's very low resource eater
