Freelancer - Text UBER HUGE!

Hi there, i just re-installed freelancer, i have the box copy with the manual and everything, bought it when it first came out ages ago.

Well, this time around, i've noticed that for some strange reason, text in the menus and the game are way too big (even on the setup screen when you load the CD), its' so big words are going off the actual screen, and the words in buttons are going off the button graphic, looking very messy indeed.

How on earth do i fix this, how on earth did it even occur?

Please help me, i wish to relive my days as a space trader

perhaps you need to fix your screen resolution to match the games?

It's a rather perplexing problem,

I've changed resolutions from the maximum, medium and minimums, but the text's still are oversized and does not want to fit into the game graphics.
