Problem saving in MAME.

Just recently I am havign a problem when saving a game.
I set it up so that "W" is my saved button and everything is working fine. But just recently whenever I try to save I get this

As you can see there seem to b something behind text that says "Save to postion C"

The music would repeatedly play over and over for about 3 to 5 second then I would proceed to save the game. It usually would save instanlly.

Man...I just found out the problem but I am not sur ewhy its doing that.
When I have MAME and its folder on my desktop and run it and save a game the game would save instantlly no problem at all.

But I get that problem when I am running MAME in my "E" Drive (external hard drive)

WHY!!!!!!!!

Bug or something?

And I personally didn't rely much on save state from MAME as there are games that can't be saved during the game.
