Conclave Exodus

Gerard, once again conclave exodus is down, and this time I will have a hard time explaining to the roleplayers, as to why. I once again lost your email adress, so I'd appreciate an ETA on its return to the web. Thanks.

As Lefteris_D already indicated, the server company I had my last server
with just went out of business without warning (see the "Site Back Up - Part II"
thread in the News forum for more info).

And I have some very bad news. First, while on the server I got the last
backups from (which dated from June or July) had automatic backups for
everyone. My last server hadn't -- I had to setup backups manually.
The problem is that I had done that for the most important files of EZ,
but not of any other part -- including the resurrection of the Conclave Exodus.

Meaning: unless you have more recent backups, I don't have any. Now
for some more bad news. I went back home to the Netherlands in November
(I'm currently working in Cork, Ireland) and changed my PC configuration
at home, which means I also don't have access to the much older backups
I was able to find some time ago.

So... the ETA for having the Conclave Exodus back online = TBD / Never right now.
Before you complain -- you get what you pay for...

(as did I... the last server wasn't particular expensive, which may
have contributed to the low cashflow problems of my previous host)

But anyway -- I do tech support. More specifically, frontline AppleCare
tech support for Dutch and English speaking customers at Apple Computers
in Cork, Ireland. I was a student a few months ago -- but I didn't like the
course to much. I may try another study next August though.

If I knew you felt like that I would have removed the forums from your hosting ghd. I always thought that you approved of the Exodus and that is why you hosted it. I do have backups however, and I will simply host the forum myself.

Thanks for the time you DID host it, but I can't really afford to have it going down for such long periods of time(without warning), it ruins the fan base.

Again, thanks, but if you felt that way, you should have said something.

Raistlin, EZ has only gone down when the server had problems so your site was not removed intentionally. Where have you been for the past few days while everything was down anyway? It was one of those cases where you can safely say "shit happens", that's all.

I feel your pain. I hope it's not phone support.
