    aspi is something like a cd "decoder" type file thing (kinda pulled that out my ass, sorry). all i know is that for some OS'es you need different aspi layers installed so it can read the cd. have you tried the disk in a different computer? it might be that your drive doesnt like it

    Try ForceASPI, it will install the correct way for your OS, just click on the batch files. It's easy to unnistall, too.

    I wonder if you're using the standard windows IDE drivers or some specific vendor/board. You can see it by hit both keys <Win> + <Pause> , System properties will appear, click on the Hardware tab -> Device Manger -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers: 3 braches would show: Primary IDE channel, Secondary IDE channel and other. Just post here which is the other one.

    It might be that Auto Insert Notification it's disabled: *Warning*, take care with the registry edition

    Start -> Run -> "regedit" -> go to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servi ces\CDRom "
    Then look at the key value -> "0" = Disabled ; "1" = Enabled
    Change the value for what's not set now, restart Windows & try again
