I am considering getting a Dreamcast for my fiance for this christmas... somethign she has requested. I was wondering if, with an emulator, I could play the games on my computer. The Dreamcast description on this site says the drive is somethign besides a CD-ROM or DVD so I'm not sure. If I have to download ROM files instead of using a CD-ROM drive of DVD drive, is there any way to adapt one of my drives to be able to do this? Thanks so much...

There no way to get a normal CD Drive to read Dreamcast discs, best stick with a real
    Dreamcast they're pretty cheap anyway.

Danny is right, no normal CD drive that will read DC disks. Although, you can download DC games, burn them, and play them on most Dreamcast systems; I was able to do so with Half Life and some other game.

It's a nice console, and the games for it are pretty cheap, hopefully she'll enjoy it.

    Cheers.
