Snes9x and Using it's Cheat System

I'm having issues with my snes9x emulator.... to play snes games with cheats.

I'll go online get a cheat code, but when i put the cheat code in, it doesn't work.

Also... there's a cheat option called Cheat Address (hex) and New Value (Hex or Dec) I have no clue what i need to put in there. the code on the websites i have don't have a hex or dec option...

So how do you all if you've used Snes9x Get the codes to work ?

Switch to older version of snes9x use snes9x1.56.2.
