Computer Problem: How to verify my PS1 dumps against redump?

I am trying to rip my PS1 collection using ImgBurn, and some of my rips have been bad.

To fix this, I want to re-rip everything, and compare it against redump just to be sure..... issue is, I am not sure how.

Games that are a single-track are easy, I can just check the resulting .bin file's CRC/md5 against that in redump..... but the ones which have multiple tracks are an issue.

Redump only lists the CRC/md5 of each track separately, not what the whole resulting bin file would look like. And I have no idea how to check that. I tried using tools such as IsoBuster to split it... but it was always a mis-match, didn't seem to be splitting it properly.

How can I verify my rips of multi-track games against redump?

You can use a tool like http://www.romvault.com in combination with a dat file from Redump. As long as the file is identical the tool will verify your data as GOOD.

Keep in mind that some games, mostly demo CD's and games that were released in multiple regions may share files (some of the extra tracks) so you will get some duplicate files after doing the check.

I wasn't aware redump had .dat files, I didn't recall seeing them.

Would this work correctly with disks ripped in a single bin/cue format using ImgBurn though? Redump only seems to have CRCs for individual tracks, not a .bin that contains all the tracks at once.

Go here for the dats: http://redump.org/downloads/

If you rip a game as a single dat file then yes it will work fine when you play it, the redump team however uses multiple tracks which is a more correct way I guess (purely for preservation purposes).

I am afraid that if a game has multiple tracks then they will have that in the dat file.
