Emulators and Viruses....?

I was introduced to emulators a while ago, but never really took the dive to use them. I was told from the beginning that emulators have viruses. But today, I was talking to my co-workers about this, and they said that viruses are rare and depend on what site you download them from and which versions. Is this true? I would like to download quite a few games, but am afraid that I will get a virus. Can anyone provide some insight on this...?

you will never get virus from trusted sites.
and i tell one thing google removes pirate sites from searching because they break law.
so use yandex.com instead its russian browser which show all sites not available by google.
you need know phrase which you need write in search bar of your browser.
thats all .
asking here for roms is illegal.
