walking instead of running in super mario 64

so i finally got sm64 to work with my gamecube controller and when i loaded it up mario cant run even though the stick is pushed all the way forward, if anyone knows a fix please tell me. i have a smash bros gamecube and a wii u official adapter if that matters, thanks in advance.

This is a range issue. What emulator and game pad/joystick are you using. The fix is easy.

The n64 system is 0-128 in the y axis, most joysticks are 0-256. So it thinks you are pressing it half way. PJ64 has a "real range" option for that.
