NES Controller Issue

I bought a USB NES controller. (Not a SNES, this is a rectangular shape)
Anyway, with my NES emulator it works brilliantly, but if I hook it into a different game, like Mount and Blade: Warband, or Minecraft, I may as well have plugged in a cardboard box.

I have figured out it is a driver issue, I have scoured the internet for drivers.
