I've known about emulators and roms for years now, but have never, until now, bothered to check them out.
I'm hoping I can get this stuff figured out. Maybe someone here will be nice enough to help me out?

Looking forward to the forum.
Thanks for having me.

Welcome aboard, setting up and playing emulators is easy. You will need it to play a Rom, in which you can make a search on Google and find websites that provide Roms.
For legal reasons We cannot provide you direct sources, but we will definitely help you set up emulators.

I'm cute, aren't I?
I'll link to a few sites that offer free-to-download homebrew games since you shouldn't neglect the scene, and also, it's not illegal unlike commercial games:

http://pdroms.de/ - probably the #1 home-brew source on the Net
http://gbadev.org/ - some really good GBA stuff
http://nesdev.com/ - check their forums
http://filetrip.net/ - probably #2 home-brew source, they have especially focused a lot of GBA and DS stuff along with many more for other consoles

(I might consider uploading some good HB games to my site too one day, if anyone wants me to do that)

Happy Emulation and have a good stay here!
