Default Windows 10 and various emulator problems

Hey all, ever since I upgraded to Windows 10 I've been getting some problems in a few emulators

Problem #1: on Project 64 I seem to have controller issues, I use an xbox one controller and I know it isn't the controller since it functions on other emulators like MAME and PCSX2 though in Project 64 certain buttons don't respond or act weird. in Zelda Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask the buttons seem to not respond despite the controller being configured I seem to have a glitch when pressing C-up (assigned to the LT trigger) it'll zoom in then out real quick, also whenever I try to play a song with the Ocarina the keys do not respond and no sounds are made except for C-right (assigned to the RT trigger), this prevents me from playing songs to progress in the game.

Problem #2: on epsxe I noticed a similar issue to the one I have with Project 64 only with SotN, I am unable to do the super jump with the Gravity Boots equipped. I have plenty of MP to do it and the control pad isn't the problem, I have the same exact issue with Yabause when playing SotN too. Yet it works normally in PPSSPP.

I hope I can get help with these problems, my only solution right now is to rollback to Windows 8.1

    1) M$ messed up the xinput driver, there are plenty of threads on that outside of this broad.
    2) I'm not sure what the problem is but I bet it is related to the above.

Generally, nothing against m$ and nothing against your choice to upgrade. But, its very unwise to ever upgrade to a new windows so quickly. In this case being you migrated from window 8 to 10, I'd be inclined to agree with that move as I would never recommend 8 to anyone. M$ them selves admitted it was a failure and release 10 to give back the win7 style OS. So it's still better to stick with 10 in this case but you will need to wait for m$ to fix the xinput issues. The best policy with emulators is to only upgrade if you are willing to accept problems. There is no way you can expect applications to know what M$ is going to change much less emulators. Some, not many, emulators still require XP.

The problem is that microsoft are using the public to test its new OS and find the bugs that should have been found before release.

Most emulators are getting on in years and are better suited to XP or some other more friendly version of Windows. If your PC has got a lot of space and grunt, you could consider making a VM with XP on it (Microsoft is giving away suitable iso's for free). Personally I wouldn't consider upgrading to Windows 10 until after SP1 comes out. You're better off with Windows 7 or XP for gaming (or even Vista I believe), at least for now. Never tried 8 or 8.1, the new desktop squares and whatnot turned me right off.

The other thing you should investigate is the security concerns surrounding Windows 10, it seems using it will grant Microsoft (and therefore the NSA) all your passwords, or at least your Wifi ones. There's also rumours flying around that they can turn off pirated software, and even disable certain hardware. Of course they only include some of this in the terms and conditions that you didn't read.

Not trying to turn you off using Windows 10, of course....
