Default VBA Save File Stopped Working

I have been playing an emulation of Pokemon Glazed, a hack of Emerald, using VBA for a while now. I have been saving in-game. It hasn't had any problems till today. Recently I updated my Mac OS to Yosemite. Now when I try running the game, my save file won't appear, there's just the new game tab.

When I close it, an error message appears saying
    "Error creating file Battery Saves/PokemonGlazed.sav"

I checked my files and the Battery Saves folder is still there. The saves files are there.

The strange thing is that only that one game has had problems saving. I tried saving with another game and it loaded fine. Then I noticed when I clicked "Get Info" for the .sav files of both games, I noticed that in the .sav file for the game that worked, it said "Modified: Today". But the sav file for the game that stopped working says "Modified: May 10" or something, which was the last time i played the game.

Btw, the directory for the save files (both working and non working) are..
    Mountain Lion/Applications/Visual Boy Advance/Battery Saves

Help? I've spent many hours on the game.

Try a different version of VBA if there is one. Not much you can do though, you should've backed it up man sorry
