Game not running as expected

Hi all!

When playing Final Fantasy 9 (Disc 1) ISO the gameplay is sped up by a considerable amount, along with the audio, which makes it really difficult to play. And when I'm in "battle" the option box doesn't appear at the bottom. I wonder if it's a video graphics card issue?

Here's my overall process...

I'm using a MacBook from 2007 (very old). I downloaded the ePSXe.exe from emuparadise, then using WineBottler I converted it to an app. (The only reason I do this is because I don't like using the mac versions of the emulators).

My bios and plugins were also from emuparadise. When I launched the application, I set up the config as such:
BIOS - scph1001 - USA
VIDEO - Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.76
SOUND - ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2
CDROM - Linuzappz ISO CDR Driver 1.4

My Mac is OS X Version 10.6.8 with a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 4GB Memory, and an Intel GMA 950 Graphics Card.
