Default Error Code 28 with GTron usb SNES controller

I have a gtron usb snes controller for playing games on my Lenovo X140e Thinkpad. The controller was working fine until last night when I began experiencing problems. Essentially my problem is that for whatever reason my controller is coming up with code 28 (no drivers) and when I search for drivers windows can't find any. It is supposed to be "plug and play" (no drivers needed) but it won't let me use it because there aren't any drivers. If anyone has experienced similar problems please help!

Your HID stack is busted. Go in to safe mode, look for any HID (human interface devices) and remove them. Then reboot. It should reinstall the drivers.
Original, the only way to play.
