controller problem...help please

Hi, I'm having a controller problem.

THe emulator i have is FCE Ultra and the controller i have is Saitek P220. I know someone who uses it so i know it'll work. When I try to play, the controller wont' work, and when it does, it just acts as if it is stuck. I tried to configure it and I can configure everything but UP and DOWN. The up and down on the d-pad won't work.

Could anyone help?!

does this saitek pad have analogue controls cos i use a ps2 controller and for some reason just the left analogue stick works instead of the d-pad lol

nope it doesn't.

I figured it out. I calibrated the controller. I tested it and everything worked fine but it needed to be calibrated. so that is what it was.
