Dark cloud 1 - not sure if just me or the ISO

Heya, figured this would be the proper place to ask this question.

I'm trying to play Dark cloud (1) or Dark chronicles, game runs on and off, occasionally the game runs perfectly at 60 frame (cap?) and maybe after a few minutes the game drops in performance (20-30 fps).

Kind of like slow motion ? lol

Anyways, I've been trying to switch between the plugins the pcsx2 came with, various settings of hacks 1~3.
Even tried to download a plugin with directx10 (I had 9 and 11 for defaults)
I've also tried running different hardware/software plugin settings


Are there any forum users here that have a nice set up for Dark cloud (1) that can share some info with me?

Which plugins in use
Which video settings you're using
Where you got the ISO? (I'm starting to think it's just the ISO that is messed up)

the original problem was the opening cutscene had huge lag spikes
then it became pretty much the gameplay. . after awhile it would work but when I would change to a new zone . . problems came up

Oh wait, posting where you get the ISO is against rules huh :P

For the best performance set the A900 to ISO 160, and in low light switch to 320. These settings havce proved to give the best combination of analogue gain and digital processing.
