Can't get Hamachi to work with Netplay (Nestopia)

Hey everybody, I'm having a bit of trouble getting Hamachi and Nestopia (Netplay) to play nice. My buddy and me are continuing from years ago, our forgotten journey of beating battletoads. So like many we downloaded Nestopia, got the newest client and tried hosting through Hamachi (since I don't want to do the port forwarding). The problem is he can't seem to connect to the game I host. I have created the network on hamachi and he's joined the network (so we both are on hamachi with the same network). We then launch netplay and I host a game (P2P). When I host this game I'm supposed to give him my Hamachi name "Blank-PC"(or the connection name? which is "BattleToadsBros") and then give him the IP that appears next to my name on Hamachi correct? Am I doing something wrong here?

1.37 or 1.40 (both with Kaillera P2P) im just asking dont know hamatachi with kaillera is easy start and stop server
