Default My VisualBoyAdvance Emulator is Running Too Fast

Hi, my VBA Em used to run at 100% but I haven't played it for months. Today when I started it it was and is running uncontrolably fast. It is fluctuating between 400 and 700%... any ideas on what's going on.

    Thanks

Unbelievable!!! I Googled the problem and the answer was a simple matter of turning my VBA's sound back on.

    Later guys...

Unbelievable? LOL... The first thing to do when you have a problem is to search for it. I guess a lot of people think they are the first to make mistakes, or invent issues but that is so far from what really is true. People make mistakes, and many of us make lots. It's part of what makes us human, if it were not for mistakes we'd never learn

Anyways, point is we here see lots of questions and we can answer them from 3 main things. One googleing for the answer, two from memory of dealing with it before, or 3 solving problems. Very seldom do we use the third option. Thus, very commonly its already know and can be found by a simple search. So no, its not unbelievable at all, its the way you should do it.

The "Unbelievable" thing was how simple the answer was not that I Googled it. My first inclination was to take my problem to experts on emulators. Since I am a member of EZ my thought was to ask you guys. I only Googled it because I was sitting there wondering what others might have to say. You become a bit shy about anything emulator related because of the feeling some people have about using them. I couldn't post in the site where I was so active with the em because they'd want to ban me. SO I came to Em Zone.

Not being comp literate I was unaware that some time ago there was an issue about sound and computers. I found it simply amazing that my em was running so fast and it was simply because I had turned the sound off. I turn my em sounds off all the time and they never run like that. To each his own I guess, but I can believe I had never turnd off the sound on my VBA; I know it never ran like that however, so I guess I never did turn the sound off. However, it was a piece of info to store away and yes, live and learn.

Did you mean can't Yes I agree with you. That part would be unbelievable to someone partially new to emulation. Though finding the answers on line, not unbelievable by any means. Perhaps your solution was misunderstood. Though you have to admit its a good feeling to solve it yourself.''

Since I am a member of EZ my thought was to ask you guys.
BTW: Watch out using that logic, some forums will strait up chastised you for doing that, with rude remarks, like "Search first", or "if you did a search you wound have found it was asked 100 times already", blahh blahh blahh.

but yeah, we are not like that here, though we do appreciate a search first. Especially on the more simple questions.

Yes, I meant "Can't." My vision obscures some things and I didn't run a spell check. No of course not... I use the net often for even medical things before seeing a Dr. Especially after to check out what users or same type patients have to say. With something so limited as this I felt more comfortable coming here and posting the peoblem. Doing a search was just an after thought. I always prefer the more immediate answers even if they gel with some 5 or 6 years old.

With this I saw a few possible reasons why it was running so fast but when I saw "Did you turn your sound off" from years ago, I said well let me do this first as I knew I had turned off the sound. And to my astonishment. It was immediately righted.

Well this emulation thing is sort of baffling because, well, I don't know if you are aware of the site "--------------" and the like. They allow for emulation of some 50 systems or so including NES, SNES, PS, GBA ETC... I wonder why a site like that can have all thses games on emulation (I guess) yet a site like GameFAQs will ban you for talking about emulators.

So it's like wading through a mine field. Although that site has in the past few days had some of Nintendo games removed, they call it DMCA removal or something. They say because domain has run its course they could put up the games in the site. I dunno. I just love the site because it offers a gazillon oldie games.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Have a great Throwback!

Because the world is full of idiots. There is no reason to ban a person for talking about or hosting an emulator??? YES the DMCA will allow the wright holders to take down a web site for not crediting protected materiel.

BTW: I really have to remove your link as it leads to downloadable roms. Sorry. rules rules rules
