Default Some problems with N64 games, black screens / red bars

At least, I assume it's the games. I've tried to play Bomberman 64 on Project64 and Mupen64, and during the intro scene, black screens appear in between the introductory cutscenes. Specifically, instead of how it appears this video of the real intro (), there will be a sudden black screen between when Bomberman is walking around wooden crates and when he is on the mine cart. Towards the end of the intro the game stops at a solid blue screen.

I tried to do this with Bomberman 64: The Second Attack to see if maybe it worked, and it had a different (but similar) problem: the text of the intro is highlighted red in some places. I can't post the screenshot that I had of it due to forum restrictions.

I'm not sure what is causing this. Does anyone know what can be done about this?

These types of things depend on what emulator and what plug-in you use.

    use this logic.

If it occurs on many plug-ins its then emulator.
If it occurs on many emulators its the rom.
If it occurs on many rom that you try to get of the net then its one of those games that just dont work right.
Original, the only way to play.

Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time work fine (as far as I've seen, just now downloaded them to see if they screwed up). I got two roms each of Bomberman 64 and The Second Attack, and neither of them worked.

I actually couldn't get Project64 to work, but I had tried to use it a year or two ago on a different computer and had the same results for Bomberman 64.

So I guess it's the rom? If these games were on virtual console, I'd jump right on them, but I can't do an actual N64. Any cart I buy could be used and abused, and having played Bomberman Hero way back when, I know firsthand that carts can spontaneously lose all data for whatever reason.
