Default Almost Ready to Give Up and Need Help

    Here is my story.

I just started a job in Ohio and it is very dull sitting in my truck the majority of the day. I also had the urge to play FF12 and decided that is an excellent way to make my days go quicker. I have a decent laptop so I decided to see what I could get going in the way of emulators.

First I downloaded the PSCX2 and downloaded what I believed to be a ROM. I owned 3 FF12 discs, but they were 7 hours away. The PCSX2 was not easy to figure out and trying to open this "rom" was achieving nothing. I could not even get that far until I downloaded something called ISOs I think. In any event it pretty soon became clear I was getting nowhere without the disc which was a problem since not only did I not have the disc, but a laptop with no cd drive.

Then my fiance came to visit me and brought her laptop which has a cd drive and the game discs. Easy enough I guessed I would use her computer to pull whatever I needed off the disc, slap it on my external hard drive, slap it on my laptop and be all set with my PS3 controller already working.

First I wiped PSCX2 off my computer and decided to reinstall it because I had tinkered with the settings and wanted to make sure it was defaulted when I decided to set up with the disc this time. Then the wheels came off.

First I tried to open it and it told me MSVCP120 was needed and missing. I ran a dll fixer, but it could not search because it was not connected to the internet which is just not true. I managed after a LOT of effort to get a copy of the little file and put it into system, system 32, and one other file I was told and now I get an 0xc000007b error. Whatever that means. I have no idea where to go from here. I did not have this problem before but my system restore sticks at initializing. I waited 20 minutes for no change. I tried it on my fiance's and got the same dll missing error.

Can anything be done? If this is fixable what else do I need to do? Get a new computer? Am I wasting my time because with a cd is there no way to get what I need off there on a hard drive? What can I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just have no idea what to do. Surely one of you guys can figure it out because I cannot.

    MSVCP120 was needed
    two things
    1) downing a random dll is not the best way to fix this
    2) never put it in a sys dir, always in the folder you are using (i.e pcsx2 folder).

So, first I'd delete that file and second I'd get the package it goes with. I know this is not that obvious but a bit of googling would tel you what the file is for. This file is part of the run-time you need to install to use a visual studio compiled application.

See the second post, and the third with a link? This is not a mystery the docs that come with pcsx2 tell you to do this.

This is mainly causes by using dlls and not having the others. This error normally means An Application was unable to start correctly. Well since you are missing the other needed dll's that makes sense.

I know, there is always something to learn...You can not possibly know it all. Let me know if you have problems.
Original, the only way to play.
