key words would be hdmi to rca or s-video converter. Yes if its not in a box chances are it wont work.

Oops sorry! I didnt realise it posted!........ I just did a search and found some boxes that convert hdmi to analogue, but cant seem to find any that convert DVI to analogue! So I am guessing I will need an adapter to turn the DVD into HDMI so that it can THEN run through the box?

yeah they are the same thing really. You just need an adapter for that.

i baught one fo those cords too, didnt work for me either. but i did find a converter on ebay that does the trick. its a VGA to RCA conversion kit. costed me like 15bux.

the one i actually ended up with that works, its a VGA to RCA converter. it works perfectly for me.
