I hate using my keyboard to play roms. Is it worth buying a gaming controller? are they any good?

two ways to go IMO.

1) get a 360 for all emulators.
2) get the original pads and adapt them. You can find really cheap options out there or get one box that use any controller from back in the day ( see sig).

Mike, I agree... I have my old pristine nintendo and sega MS controllers retro'd call me old fashioned- but up down left right A B is all I need!
