    Default SSF Audio Stutter

I'm getting an annoying audio stutter in SSF when running most games that use CD-quality audio. I've tried multiple ROMs, mounting devices, and settings, but nothing seems to work. Been using SSF for years and have never encountered a problem like this before. Here's a video with resource monitor running in the background. I noticed Disk 0 tends to spike when the audio cuts out.

Sorry for the lack of a direct link. The forum won't allow me to do it.

are these CD images mounted with daemon tools? If so have you check fragmentation on that Hard disc?
Original, the only way to play.

Doesn't matter what virtual drive I use (Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, CloneDrive), the result is always the same.

Already ran a complete defrag. Didn't help.

Drive shows up as "ST1000ML024 HN-M101MBB." Google says it's a Samsung Spinpoint M8 and that it has a SATA interface. There are IDE controllers listed under "Storage Controllers" in Device Manager, but I dunno if that's relevant.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M and for onboard graphics, Intel HD Graphics 4000. Doesn't matter which one I run SSF with. The problem persists.
