PlayStation Memory Cards Not Working Properly.

I have installed the PCSX-R playstation emulator on my computer, running windows 7, and have been using it to play Harvest Moon Back To Nature but am unable to save/load to/from the memory cards. When I try to save/load to/from the memory cards the game freezes up and becomes unplayable. I have tried formatting the memory cards with no success. Please help.

Have you tried other games, it could be a bug in emulating that game.
