Default Need a bit of advice.

Ok so i've had the emulator for a while now and have played many old games that i've loved since i was a kid e.x. kingdom hearts 1 & 2, war of the monsters, dragon ballz buddakhai and so on, Never had any problems till now. I got a iso for Ratchet and clank up your arsenal, My number one favorite ps2 game ever, And i try to play and everything is in slow motion when i look towards enemies and bigger areas, Seems like the fps drops hard, I dont really understand why because my computer is real top notch, other than my processor which isnt the most superb but its good too, Ill link info under:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
    Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 960T Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
    Memory: 16384MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 16382MB RAM
Graphics card: AMD HD Graphics 6900 Aprox Total memory:1769 mb

Ok so if my comp suffices i should be able to play this game just like all the others i've played, Note that i played most of the others with over 60 fps at all times. So...is it just the iso? Or what? Help please.

Thats quite the powerhouse computer you have man, I have almost no experience with ps2 emulation, so I wouldn't really know whats slowing you down. tbh, the emulator might be the problem. I would imagine that the emulator doesn't have full support for that game yet, hence the speed drop. Im assuming that the speed drop goes away when you play a different one like Kingdom of Hearts, right? I think the best you could do is try to fiddle around with emulator settings, or maybe trying a previous version of the emulator you use. Im pretty sure there is someone else on here who can help you too.

    AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 960T Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz <-- your problem.

If you want 60 fps you need to match the dev bench system. Ps2 is developed on intel hardware not Amd . Amd has its advantages but emulation is never really one of them. Anything over 2 cores is a waste as the emulator does not use them. 3.0 is slow, get that up to 4 or 5 with OC.

Sandy Bridge will clock to 5.0 under air nicely.

How exactly would i go about OC'ing my Processor? Without it going unstable that is. Thats why i've never done it, Rather be stable than not.

You read up and learn. Though this is not the place to ask. I'd get over to forums.extremeoverclocking.com, that is were I get my info. Search for your chip on there. AMD's dont OC as well as a sandy chip will. My chip is a 3570k 3.4 running at 4.7 playing dolphin and sp2 at full speeds. I also have the OC's choice motherboard. If you are going to try OC'ing what you have the gain wont get you the results you want. Sell your rig and get a sandy or ivy bridge.
