Magic Engine cheat corrupts Tatsujin

Hi. I downloaded a book of cheats for the above emulator. I keyed in "F82054 9 LIVES" in the cheat menu. This gives infinite lives on Tatsujin jap. I played the game, with the cheat working, then switched off the emu. Tried to play game again, but it was corrupted and unplayable. I deleted the rom and re installed it so to speak, but same. I tried it on the proto version of Tatsujin and it did same, the only way around it was to reload the save point after initially activating the cheat, thus seemingly still playing for first time after activation. Otherwise, if you don't save, the game remains permanently corrupt. Any ideas or similar experiences, anybody?? (don't want to use cheats on other games in case same thing happens).

Actionreplay,GameShark and other binary cheats often cause the corruption of games,savegames and savestates.Happened to me quite a few times.I would reccomend you not to use cheats.
