Nintendo 64 Kirby 64 : The Crystal Shards not working.

All of the controls work okay, the only problem is that whenever I try to use a power or take it out to mix with another power, Kirby freezes, however everything else in the game continues to move. So it is near impossible to play with this disability. Are there any solutions? I have tried multiple different ROMs and different emulators as well.

EDIT: I forgot to add, whenever Kirby gets hurt, he freezes, but can still move left and right, just not jump.

Sounds like me that you need to get a new system to emulate it on.

Let's just say this problem is very.. rare
so it hasn't really been looked into or solved

I have the exact same problem. Using 1964. Have a solution been found?
