i read all the other threads...and i still can't run my KOF!!! PLEASE HELP!

I got the kof2002 rom and i just can't freaking run it, i'm frustrated - from a gamers point of view and sexually...which ever one what will cause you to feel pity towards this broken broken fanboy.

I downloaded like 3 - 4 different emulators, NeoRageX, its updated version, nebula, MAME, MAME32, Nebula but i still fail. When the rom is unzipped i get a 'King' Folder which has the following files in it...

kof2k2_c1.rom
kof2k2_c2.rom
etc etc
kof2K2_V4.ROM
etc etc

I read in another thread MAME doesn't run these type of rom files...and apparently neither does NeoRageX...cuse it just doesn't detect...i run KoF94-2001 perfectly but just not KoF2002.

The thing is, KoF2002 isn't even on the MAME32 Gamelist...or any of the emulators gamelist for that matter...

PLEASE HELP!!! if i'm doing something wrong with the emulator *i put it into the rom folder and whatnot* or if i need more updated emulators, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I URGE YOU TO PLLLLLLEASE GIMME A LINK TO THE EMULATOR SITE AND NAME OF EMULATOR - the version if need be.

Well, I can't give you the link of the hacked emulators. But obviously you can find a way to solve this.

Use a Nebula2.20 emulator. Find and edit from the romdata files, and you can play the game. The only problem is, your kof2002 romset in which you need put all the CRC's in a romdata file.

Nope, the latest version will lock the any NeoGeo games which is newer than KOF2000. So, KOF2002 will be categorized in that group also. Older version in which I believe is Nebula2.23 (if I am not forgotten.), is a version where the author missed it to lock the game while that version is released. So, you had to look for the old version.

Romdata..... what I mean is you had to look your CRCs in your KOF2002 zip. Then try to open those one of dat files with notepad and try to add it with the name of the files, CRC's and so on. I will bring a example.

Then, you may need to edit the necessary which is different from your KOF2002 roms by using Notepad and then save. Remember, backup the original before you start to edit and test.

Thanks for the Tips...i'm just only slightly confused after i consulted with some of my computer friends who have the know how -

they said i needed a CRC detector? So...umm...sweet i found out winrar can find me the crc i needed, but that doesn't cover the numbers u had before the rom like 400000, and 20000, 0 and etc etc, do i need to find those numbers elsewhere thru another program or can i just use urs?

I then put this into the romdata folder and put the rom into the rom folder, zipped AND unzipped. The thing is when i used you sample, nebula 'detected' your romdata sample but didn't find the game....so then i replaced your sample with mine edited CRC and this time nebula didn't even identify my romdata .dat file. ARGGGHH!!!

And here are the files it can't detect...

Right now you are only missing Neogeo.zip which contains neogeo bios. Hmmm, probably this time I should help you out in 'shadow mode'. Wait till I get my hands on mine and send you then.

And here is what I did for my kof2k2 if you see what is the similarities in both pictures.

Make an edit using notepad


So, any problem for those of you who had having problems editing the dat files?

so i'll go get neogeo.zip and unzip it and shove it into the rom folder as well?

Ur edit is pretty much like my one except u have %%%%%%% and an extra 4-5 lines at the bottom below another %%%%%
