The VGB 5.2 for Android is now online:

This release fixes several crashes in the native code, as well as Cheatopedia. It is based on the same sources as VGB 5.2 for Windows and Linux, released a short while ago:

* Hopefully fixed a crash in the native startup code.
* Hopefully fixed two native crashes when drawing screen.

Hello, All!

The fresh VGB 5.2.1 for Android has been released tonight:

This release fixes an awkward situation where newer Androids will not let VGB list the root folder. Previously, you would end up with an empty File Selector and nowhere else to go, but no more. I have also fixed several possible crashes and added Cheatopedia cheats for eight more games, including Dogz, Atlantis, and Donald Duck. See below for all the changes.

ALL CHANGES:
* Fixed File Selector getting stuck at unreadable root folder.
* Fixed native crash when processing initial commands sent by Java side.
* Fixed crash when loading an invalid skin bitmap file.
* Added cheats for 8 more games.
* Added cheats for Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Mulan.
* Added cheats for Buzz Lightyear and Disney's Dinosaur.
* Added cheats for Donald Duck in Maui Mallard.
* Added cheats for Donald Duck: Going Quackers.

This release adds the "Change Folder" option letting you jump between folders and fixes a few bugs. See below for details.

ALL CHANGES:
* Added "Change Folder" option to the File Selector for jumping between folders.
* Made folder listing error a bit less threatening, since it has become the new normal in Android 7+.
* Fixed hangup on exit where Java code waits for non-existent native thread.
* Removed outdated features from the EMULib code.

Hello, All!

VGB 5.2.3 for Android, a new version of my GameBoy emulator is available from the Google Play today:

This release makes sure that the selected GameBoy model and other hardware options in "Settings | Emulation" are saved between emulation runs. There are also improvements to the Joystick Layout Editor, with several bugs fixed and the display rectangle resizable in both directions. Please, be aware that the GameBoy screen has certain fixed ratio, so if you make the display rectangle too tall, the GameBoy screen will stick to its top. See below for all the changes.

ALL CHANGES:
* GameBoy model and other hardware options will now be saved.
* Greatly improved the Layout Editor, fixing many bugs.
* Layout Editor now lets you resize screen in both dimensions.
* Screen rectangle will stay centered while resizing.
* Buttons gravity will be restored when resetting layout.
* Made states/screenshots deletion more reliable.

I've just published VGB 5.3, the new version of my GameBoy Color, GameBoy Classic, and Super GameBoy emulator:

The new VGB adds support for multiple monitors and improves full-screen mode detection on Windows, fixes DirectInput joysticks support and the flickering window issue that appeared after the recent Win10 updates. The Windows version now supports two joysticks at a time (as long as a GameBoy or Super GameBoy game allows for two players) and makes XBox directional pads work. I have also switched the Linux version to PulseAudio sound, so that you no longer need to mess with the OSS sound emulation. See below for all the changes.

* Added second joystick support to VGB-Windows.
* Added multiple monitor support to VGB-Windows.
* Fixed disappearing window in VGB-Windows.
* Fixed best full-screen mode detection in VGB-Windows.

This release fixes DropBox support, broken since DropBox changed their API last month. I have now switched to DropBox APIv2, but you may have to reset all settings or reinstall VGB to make DropBox work. It is also worth noting that VGB-Android is on sale for $1.99 for the next few days. Finally, I have also released the free VGB 5.3 for Windows and Linux at the beginning of this week:

I have just updated VGB-Android emulator to version 5.3.1:

This release applies final fixes to make DropBox work again, as well as fixes the issue with save files getting stuck in the /sdcard/VGB folder and overriding newer saves. See below for all the changes.

This release fixes the DropBox crash that occurred when your app folder had subfolders. I have also fixed gamepads on ShieldTV and other AndroidTV devices, and moved all app development to the latest Android SDK. See below for all the changes.

* Fixed gamepad on Nvidia ShieldTV and other AndroidTV devices.
* Any input devices named as "virtual-*" are now ignored.
