    Hello, All!

    I have published VGB-Android 4.9.7 this morning:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb

This release adds an option to control overscan margins on AndroidTV devices. If your AndroidTV has a system-wide setting to enable overscan, you can disable VGB-specific overscan by unchecking the "General | Add Overscan Margins" option. I have also fixed interoperability with third-party file managers (like Astro or ES File Explorer) on newer Android devices. Finally, I have added cheats for 18 more games, including Lemmings, Lucky Luke, River King, and multiple Looney Tunes games. See below for all the changes.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Added "General | Add Overscan Margins" option for AndroidTV.
    * Declared emulation activities enabled for external use.
    * Added cheats for 18 more games to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added cheats for four Looney Tunes games.
    * Added cheats for two River King games.
    * Added cheats for two Little Mermaid games.
    * Added cheats for two Lion King games.
    * Added cheats for LEGO Alpha Team and Lock'n'Chase.
    * Added cheats for Lemmings and Little Monster.
    * Added cheats for Lethal Weapon and Lunar Lander.
    * Added cheats for Little Nicky and Loopz.
    * Added cheats for Lucky Luke.

    Have fun!

    Hello, All!

VGB-Android 4.9.8, released today, adds fixes previously introduced into my other emulators:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb

The controls placed in the Joystick Layout Editor will no longer shift to unexpected positions after you save them. Menus should now work on AndroidTV, when you press both thumbsticks inside the emulation. Finally, you can assign a custom hardware key for toggling cheats on and off.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Fixed button placement in Joystick Layout Editor.
    * Buttons no longer shift from where you set them.
    * Custom screen rectangle goes where it should go now.
    * Button labels will not distort when custom screen selected.
    * Fixed the menu on AndroidTV.
    * Added a menu workaround for Google's political idiocy.
    * Replaced options menu with context menu for AndroidTV.
    * Added "Toggle cheats" special key function.

    Enjoy!

    Hello, All!

In the spirit of the current Pokemon Go craze, I have released VGB-Android 4.9.10 today:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb

This release adds new Cheatopedia cheats for the original Pokemon Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver games for GameBoy. I have also fixed errors and corrupted entries in the existing cheat lists for these games. Please note that for a lot of these cheats, you need to disable the cheat after it has been applied once. Your modified stats or items will stay after disabling the cheat.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Added many new cheats for Pokemon games.
    * Fixed Pokemon Red, Blue, Gold, and Silver cheat lists.
    * Added new cheats for Pokemon Red/Blue.
    * Added new cheats for Pokemon Gold/Silver.

    Enjoy!

    Hello, All!

I have pushed VGB-Android 5.0.4, a new version of my GameBoy emulator, to the Google Play this morning:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb

In this version, I have switched to the newest Android SDK and NDK versions, as well as CLANG C compiler and other up to date tools. Since CLANG is much more serious about reporting problems with the code than GCC, I had to refactor all the native code to get rid of the new warnings.

VGB now supports split window mode on Nougat devices, as well as freeform windows, as soon as Google enables them (or you can enable them yourself in Nougat). Since I do not have any real Nougat devices to test on, I would appreciate any help testing split and freeform windows on the real Nougat-running hardware.

Finally, the new VGB will explicitly ask you to grant some permissions on startup. Please do grant them, or the app may not work properly. See below for all the changes in this release.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Switched to Android Nougat platform (android-25).
    * Switched to JDK 1.8, NDK 13, CLANG toolchain, newest ANT and ProGuard.
    * Refactored all native code, fixing CLANG warnings.
    * Added split window support on Android Nougat.
    * Added freeform window support for upcoming Androids.
    * On Marshmallow+, app asks for permissions on startup.
    * Fixed scalable images used for tiles in the File Selector.

    Have fun!

    Hello, All!

VGB 5.0.5 for Android, published this morning, adds the same improvements and enhancements as iNES 4.6.7 released the last week:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...id=com.fms.vgb

The GLES shaders, used for scaling and special effects, have been optimized. The new "Audio | Sampling Rate | Automatic" setting lets you choose the best sampling rate and buffer size that your Android hardware reports. At this setting, you should have the minimal audio latency. Just keep in mind that the hardware latency gets added up on top of the "Audio | Latency" setting you choose. See below for all the changes.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Optimized OpenGLES shaders used in scaling algorithms and filters.
    * Added "Audio | Sampling Rate | Automatic" option for best available sound.
    * Added "Audio | Sampling Rate" options for 24kHz and 48kHz sound.
    * Always using optimal rate and buffer size when "Automatic" selected.
    * Made audio render without glitches at custom sampling rates.
    * Now always hiding FAB buttons on devices with no touchscreen.

    Have fun!
