    Cool VGBA-Android Release Announcements

    Hello, All!

I have updated VGBA-Android, my GameBoy Advance emulator, to version 4.2.10 this morning:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba

This release adds a database of FlashROM/EEPROM chip types for about 300 GBA games, to help VGBA better recognize what in-game saves hardware each game is using. I have also made the action bar look the same as the toolbar, fixed the parent directory icons in the File Selector, and added five more games to the Cheatopedia.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Added FlashROM/EEPROM type hints for 300 more games.
    * Added new-styled action bar, consistent with toolbar.
    * Added proper icon for the parent directory ("..") entry.
    * Added Chu Chu Rocket to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added CT Special Forces to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added Daredevil to the Cheatopedia.

    Talking VGBA-Android Release Announcements

    Hello, All!

The VGBA-Android 4.3, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator released today, comes with major sound quality improvements:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba

Many users have complained about VGBA sound quality in the past. In this new VGBA release, I have switched to a different sound rendering algorithm, finally fixing the delay between direct and melodic audio channels that many Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green users complained in the past. The problem is not limited to these games, so other affected games will show improvement as well. In addition to fixing the delay issue, the new sound code should also remove echo and distortions. A few game-specific audio problems may still occur though.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Switched to simpler and more precise sound rendering algorithm.
    * Fixed lag between wave and melodic channels (Pokemon games, etc).
    * Improved overall audio quality a lot.

    Have fun!

    Wink VGBA-Android Release Announcements

    Hello, All!

VGBA-Android 4.3.4, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator, is now online at Google Play:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba

In this release, I have made sure that the new tabbed Settings dialog can be navigated with a gamepad, including the Moga controller. Also, you can now assign Moga keys to any GBA buttons you like, a feature requested by many Moga users. I have also fixed a rather nasty battery drain that occurred when VGBA ran in background mode. The drain was due to the legacy audio code running in a loop. Finally, the cheats for the three Phantasy Star Collection games are now in the Cheatopedia. Hope all of you, RPG gamers, are happy now

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Added ability to assign Moga buttons via "Assign Keys".
    * Fixed battery drain when VGBA is running in background.
    * Added arrow keys navigation to the tabbed Settings.
    * Added Moga controller navigation to the tabbed Settings.
    * Added Phantasy Star cheats to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added Phantasy Star 2 cheats to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added Phantasy Star 3 cheats to the Cheatopedia.

    Smile VGBA-Android Release Announcements

    Hello, All!

I have published VGBA-Android 4.3.5 today, a new version of my GameBoy Advance emulator:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d=com.fms.vgba

In this version, I have fixed the 16bit PUSH CPU instruction so that it can make changes to the I/O registers, as some programmers use this instruction to initiate the DMA and do other things. I have also added the "Hide Title Bar" option, requested by many users. Please note that once you hide your action bar, you can always get it back by sliding your finger down from the center of the screen. Finally, I have added cheats for a few games. See the complete list of changes below.

    ALL CHANGES:
    * Fixed THUMB PUSH instruction for cases where DMA is initiated with PUSH.
    * Added "Hide Title Bar" option to hide status/action bar on startup.
    * Added Egg Mania cheats to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added Elf The Movie cheats to the Cheatopedia.
    * Added ET The Extraterrestrial cheats to the Cheatopedia.
