Pokemon Fire Red won't respond

I'm in the middle of playing Pokemon Fire Red on Visualboy Advance. I just entered the Gaming Center in Celadon City, and I started up one of the slot machines. However, none of my buttons are responding. Not to use the machine, not to exit it, not to bring up the main menu, none of it. I accidentally saved over my previous save state, so I can't reload an earlier save to before I started up the machine. The game itself really hasn't froze up: the music still plays just fine, but nothing else is responding. I'm not sure if this is a game problem or an emulator problem. I'm using the very latest release of VBA (v. 1.7.2). Can anyone please offer any insight? Thanks!

The rom is Broken!If you have a backup save or a quicksave before you got to the slotmachine the load the savegame and ignore the slotmachine!
