Hey guys and gals, Firstly I'd like to say great forum! First post woot!
Alright so I know enough about computers / tech / emulators to get by and solve most of my own problems.
HOWEVER ive run into a particulary annoying problem that i cant seem to fix.

Okay so i have a windows 7 x64bit OS on a laptop.
Ive got 4GB of RAM. With hundreds of GB of free space. Processor is an Intel P6100 @ 2.00 GHz

It isnt a super computer but it gets me by for all of my schoolwork needs and most simple games I run.
So I'm running ePSXe 1.7.0 with Pete's D3D driver 1.76 Video Plugin. and YES I DO own FF8 on CD. however one of the disks is scratched and freezes on a particular cutscene on disk 3. VERY ANNOYING! Ironically Im having the same problem but for the emulated version .

Anyways The cutscene Im freezing at is the one right after your seeD exam. (The first time you meet Rinoa). Right as her and Squall are dancing a close up of her face appears and BANG! frozen.
So throw me some suggestions if you guys have any and Id be happy to try em out.
