Nintendo Entertainment System stand alone game recommendations

I was hoping someone could recommend me a good stand-alone (that is not part of a franchise) game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

what do you mean by a stand-alone game? Like single player? IF so what type of game, nes had 100's of great games.

Well the definition of franchise is something this is owned by a ground. So it sounds like your asking for a game not made by some sort of organization or group? -- Though, I dont know what the could mean? Every game is made by a company of some sort, unless you are referring to public domain or hacks? Give us an example of one game in this category.

I dont think they never did much with Karnov
I always liked solomon's key, they made many version on other consoles but I think no squeals.

There are a good 100 more I'm sure, can you narrow it down a bit more?
