When running roms they regurly slow down for about 2 seconds and then reach full speed. Is there a option to fix this, its starting to piss me off.

Try increasing frame skipping.

i have the same problem, i got windows xp and have done all the frame skip stuff

Maybe you just lack the CPU power, or the effect being emulated is not yet emulated efficiently

i would like to say at this time that i have a pentium 4 2.66Ghz processor

Then VIDEO CARD or DRIVER is the source of the problem.

ummm just for the record again, the vba works better on my crappy computer then this one, and the crappy on is a 500Mhz processor

The slowdown is because there is a throttling bottleneck somewhere. First off, try disabling the vertical retrace/vsync option.
