Default VBA stuck at SLOW speed

Hello everyone! Thank you for reading. I have been checking the forums for 20 minutes now and since I haven't found any thread that addresses my topic I have decided to make my own. I have seen hundreds of topics complaining about their VBA being stuck at FAST speed. Mine however, is stuck at SLOW speed, 25% speed to be more precise. I play Pokemon Fire Red. I had this problem for 2 days and I just closed VBA and opened it again and the game started running smoothly again. Today this didn't work. I have been trying to solve this problem on my own for over an hour. My game is STUCK at 25% speed. THere is no way to fix it. I would otherwise abandon this but since I have spent literally HOURS playing on that game I would really like to fix my game. Any help will be really appreciated.

Here's a few things you can try.

    - Try setting it to a higher priority in the task manager.

    - Options > Video > Render Method > DDraw Use Video Memory

    - If you have any filters on, turn them off.

    - Options > Video > Disable SFX

    - Experiment with frame skip.

    - Options > Emulator > Speed Up Toggle (could lead to choppiness).

    - Experiment with throttle.
