Post Advise for a first time Emulator-er

I've played around with a few emulators before on my pc but always had trouble in either getting them to function at all, in the case of n64 ones, or in finding an easy way to run them, a problem i have had with playstation emulators.

I've recently purchased a laptop and want to download a few emulators, specifically a playstation one to run final fantasy games, an N64 one to run various games and even an old gameboy one to run some origional pokemon games.

Looking for the best ones to run on a windows 7 laptop, making running roms as simple as possible.

Sorry if i have made some kind of gross oversight about emulators or roms or how they work, i'm really very new to it all. Thanks in advance!
