I was loading Yoshi's Story and the following message apeared:



So is it a bad rom image or is a problem with my emulator?

As you know im not an expert (lol) but try a different ROM.. and see if it says the same thing... if it doesnt it is not your emulater... its probably your ROM.

It's hard to say whether it's the emulator or the ROM. You can either verify them ROM using an appropriate toolset, or check the emulator forums, documentation etc. to see if the game is actually supported.

The error itself indicates that the main CPU has read an instruction from memory that it doesn't know what to do with. This means that the emulator doesn't support the complete CPU instruction set, or that something has gone wrong (corruption or bad emulation) which has caused the program counter to be set at an inappropriate memory address.
