Default A doubt about PCs and consoles

    Hello.

I was wondering: if an emulator, like pcsx2, can run properly 4gb isos without installing it, and avoiding lag and so on, why do PC games have to be installed? Can't all the data be loaded from Isos as well? Or is it purely a commercial issue?

Well there are a lot of reasons but it really comes down to this. Consoles are meant to be portable, computers not. For computers most vendors want you to install so they can gain some controller ( license and what not ). Also the install checks your OS as ever computer is not the same, unlike consoles that are. With emulators you configure the emulator to match your PC so there is no need to install the games. So you actually are installing the the emulator not the game
Original, the only way to play.
