Sony Playstation (PSX) Emulator Quick-Start Guide by: Rezo

Instructions:


Create Folders:
  • Create a Folder and Name it PSX
  • Create a Folder in PSX and call it GAMES

Extract ePSXe v1.7.0:
  • Install WinRAR Archiver
  • Open epsxe170.zip
  • Click FILE -> SELECT ALL -> Click EXTRACT TO
  • Locate the /PSX/ Folder in the Middle-Right Box
  • Click OK


Extract ZLIB1:
  • Open zlib125-dll.zip
  • Click FILE -> SELECT ALL -> Click EXTRACT TO
  • Locate the /PSX/ Folder in the Middle-Right Box
  • Click OK



Add PSX PLUGINS and BIOS Files:


PLUGINS FOR WINDOWS:
  • Open gpupeteogl209.zip
  • Click FILE -> SELECT ALL -> Click EXTRACT TO
  • Locate the /PSX/PLUGINS Folder in the Middle-Right Box
  • Click OK

  • Open gpupeopssoftwin118b.zip
  • Click FILE -> SELECT ALL -> Click EXTRACT TO
  • Locate the /PSX/PLUGINS Folder in the Middle-Right Box
  • Click OK

*Make sure you Verify that: gpuPeopsSoft, gpu, and gpuPeteOpenGL2 are in the /PSX/PLUGINS/ Folder*


PLUGINS FOR LINUX:

ePSXe Plugins for Linux can be found at: LINK


BIOS FILE:
  • Locate BIOS File or Several BIOS Files (example SCPH7502.bin)
  • Paste BIOS to your /PSX/BIOS Folder


OPENING ePSXe v1.7.0:

Windows Vista and Windows 7:
  • Open the /PSX/ Folder
  • Locate the ePSXe File with the GamePad icon (to the right under "TYPE" it should say Application)
  • Right Click -> PROPERTIES -> COMPATABILITY -> PRIVILEGE LEVEL
  • Put a Check in the RUN THIS PROGRAM AS AN ADMINISTRATOR Box -> Click APPLY -> Click OK
  • Double Click the ePSXe File -> Click YES (if Asked)

Windows XP:
  • Open the /PSX/ Folder
  • Double Click ePSXe.exe


RUNNING A GAME:

**Optional** Use IMGBURN to make an ISO File of an Original PSX Game
  • Put Game ISO in /ePSXe/GAMES/
  • Open /PSX/ and Double Click ePSXe
  • Click Yes (if asked)
  • Click FILE -> RUN ISO
  • Locate /PSX/GAMES/ Folder
  • Double Click Game ISO to Select the Game


ADDITIONAL OPTIONS:
**NOTE: ePSXe MUST BE RUNNING AS ADMINISTRATOR**

Configure a Gamepad/Controller
  • Acquire a USB Gamepad (an XBOX360 Gamepad WILL WORK)
  • Plug USB Cable into your Computer
  • Allow Windows to Install Drivers (automatic)
  • Open /PSX/ Folder and Double Click ePSXe
  • Click CONFIG -> GAMEPAD -> PORT 1 -> PAD 1

    **NOTE: If it does not show up, either you are not running ePSXe in Administrator mode,
    your controller is faulty, or you should check other combinations (Port 2, etc)

Thnx bro, but where can I find a program to use my ps2 or 3 controller?, is that possible maybe?. Well, I'm sure it is since you said a x-box 360 controller will work but where do I find a sixaxis program at I wonder?...
