Help using logitec controller with pj64 emu

I have a logitec controller that looks like a large playstation controller. I know it works on my computer because I use it with DC Universe but i cant figure out how to make it work with the emulators. Can anyone help me?
P.S The controller has an X mode and a D mode on the back, do you know which i should use?

Nevermind i figured it out. When you go into option - configure controller plugin, you have to save the changes you make as a profile. That was the only thing i missed.
