Thread: Best emulator for playing Time Crisis?

  1. #1

Default Best emulator for playing Time Crisis?

I have a lightgun, and I'd want to play Time Crisis - but on MAME is too slow.
Is there any emulator that I can use for playing such game, using the lightgun?

I have a rather slow machine (Thinkpad x200s); although I also have a much more powerful Mac Pro, I want to see if there is any option for playing on the laptop :-)

No, you won't get it running with a decent framerate on the Thinkpad.

Also dependent on what lightgun you have its highly unlikely you can use it with a Laptop or other LCD display. Most conventional lightguns 'flash' the screen and require the screen have a vertical and horizontal scan (as a CRT, TV, or arcade monitor works). Modern displays don't update like this so the guns don't work with them.
With an LCD display you need something that uses an external source to locate itself, like the Wii controllers do with the sensor bar, or the LCD Topgun lightguns do with their LED bars.

Sorry, forgot to say. I have a projector and and EMS Topgun 2.

I guess I have to use my other machine, a Mac Pro quad core, although it would be much less handy.
