Unhappy Zelda OOT/Master Quest + Majora's Mask issues

I'm incredibly new to emulation, but I downloaded an emulator Mupen64, and tried ocarina of time. It was working fine 'till I tried to make a profile. I click any icon and it puts nothing in the box, and skips straight to end. When I try to press end, nothing happens. I tried Master Quest, and Majora's Mask, and got the same problem. I switched emulator to Project64k, and tried the three games. Same problem. Anyone got an explanation?

Oh, maybe you don't know the buttons, If you go into the plugin options you can configure how the buttons are mapped, Other then that, I don't know what to say.

EDIT: Or maybe your computer isn't letting the letters show on the screen, that was common in older versions of n64 emus.

Hey thanks dude. I originally thought you didn't understand the problem correctly, but I tried again, with the same problem. I read again what you said, and I pressed a few random keys. When I hit X it worked. Well, I'm off to play Zelda!
