Howdy guys,
I have a perplexing problem that hopefully someone can shed some light on. I had purchased a copy of Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn some time ago and could never get the game to run on my Saturn console. I have tried several other consoles and the game still never booted. It would freeze at the sega license screen after the Sega Saturn animation with the access light blinking. At this point the disk would also stop spinning (which indicated to me that the console stopped attempting to read the disk).

Earlier tonight I downloaded SSF version 0.11 Alpha R5 and tried the game just for kicks and giggles. The game not only booted, but ran flawlessly. I have since purchased another copy of Dragon Force from ebay and it runs on my console fine. I'm just searching for an explanation as to why one disk works while another doesn't.

Some further details about the problematic disk that may be of interest:
1. The disk does not appear to have any damage on it.
2. The label for the disk is different than the working disk (the one I got from ebay).
