Pro Action Replay Code not working.

I actually have 2 problems.

1. When I try to play Ninja Gaiden on NNNesterJ and jump on to a wall Ryu won't un-cling from the wall. When I'm walking, the buttons work just fine. One jumps and the other does the sword. But once I jump on to a wall, I can't jump off of it. The game doesn't hang or anything. The buttons just don't respond. I tried remapping to other keys too. No difference. Using the same keys with another emulator(JNES) it works fine.

2: While playing the game using JNES, I accidentally reset the game(bumped a key), so I figured I could do a level select cheat to continue from where I was. But when I try to enable the "Pro Action Replay" level select cheat, It doesn't work:

It looks formatted properly to me. The original "value" was 00. I just changed that to 11. When I change it back to 00 and try to apply it I still get the error message, so I don't think I'm doing anything wrong(when I enable the timer freeze cheat, which requires no editing, that works fine). I've never even heard of Pro Action Replay before. I'm only familiar with Game Genie. There's no level select codes for Game Genie, other than maybe custom codes which are nowhere to be found.

The Jnes emulator is getting old you need one that gets updated often. Try FCEUX it works with Pro Action Replay Codes.
