I wouldn't be surprised if some Nintendo nerd, who also happens to be a math nerd, calculated his weight from image proportions alone.. Or just has some really obscure published knowledge from Nintendo.
I vote 200 - 300, probably closer to 300

It's actually stated in one of the instruction booklets for a Nintendo game that he's 308 pounds.
