VBA Link Svae States Aren't Working

Okay, here's the deal. I've been using VBA Link as my GBA emulator. But recently I booted up a game and found out the save states that I had made were not being loaded. I found out this applied to all my games. I can see the .sg(#) files right beside the roms, so why aren't they working? What do I need to do?

EDIT: Never mind. I found a way to fix it:just manually open the save states and then save them again.It was either that or a combination of me and the emulator fixing itself.
